Think Tank is continuing their recent run on new camera cases and photo bags with the latest Retrospective Backpack 15.

Designed for “back-road adventure travel,” it is available now in either Pinestone or Black at $249.

Holding removable, configurable cushioned dividers, the Retrospective Backpack 15 will safely carry a pro mirrorless or small DSLR with 70-200mm F2.8 lens attached.

When the front flap is zippered, the back panel provides full access to gear and also stows a 15-inch laptop. There is also an organizer pocket with internal zippered pocket for smaller accessories and items like memory cards.

With rapid-access lid, the classic-styled rucksack has a canvas exterior with zippered security flap under the flipaway top flap. It has metal buckling and leather accents.

There is a tripod attachment on both the front and side with pouch that doubles as a side panel to hold up to a 32-inch water bottle. It’s also compatible with Think Tank Photo’s Modular Component attachment bags and pouches for extra lenses and accessories.

For travel and destination photography, their Think Tank Photo Airport Advantage Plus rolling case has been sized for carry-on. In March, the company’s brand new Vision Shoulder Bag family was released in three sizes, each at less than $150.

The affordable new $69 Ranger Mini DSLR Sling for a single camera, lens and peripherals joins several photography bags and cases from HEX Brand, based in Los Angeles.

]]>

Dubbed as “the perfect little bag for just what you need”, a new $69 HEX Ranger Mini DSLR Sling joins the larger $99 Ranger Sling as a more compact daypack version to hold single camera, lens and small accessories.

Available in three color schemes—Black, Glacier Camo and Camo—the HEX Ranger Mini DSLR Sling is designed to be less conspicuous than most camera bags for city travels.

The HEX Mini DSLR Sling is designed to be nondescript for safer travels.

With EVA padding, the foldaway divider can be pulled to stow the HEX Ranger Mini DSLR Sling as flat as possible to make it easier to carry in bigger bags.

HEX Brand mentioned at PhotoPlus that many photographers are using their Ranger DSLR Slings as a day-to-day camera bag that they can carry with them on overhead during travel.

The 2.5 liter bags can also be converted to hold two to four lenses or as a Vlogger or other accessory bag.

The bag is available at hexbrand.com, the HEX retail store in downtown Los Angeles and a few online retail venues like Amazon.

Hold Fast Gear caught our eye during PhotoPlus this past October. The company makes handsome and functional camera straps and holsters,
as well as some really nice looking leather bags and an assortment of
hand-crafted items.

The Sightseer modular backpack and case system allows for pouches and straps to be attached for extra cameras and accessories.

Based around its $29 Camera Holdfast buckling, the company’s proprietary locking camera screw has been tested to 260 pounds of pressure.

Starting at $175, their Money Maker series of multi-camera straps can affix two or three cameras to be worn on the body.

Interested but want to start with a smaller example? A $25 Belt Anchor will attach to any belt and can also be used with the Money Maker harness.

The Money Maker can accommodate three cameras securely.

Starting at $600, Hold Fast also makes Roamographer duffles for cameras and accessories. Their top of the line $995 Roamographer is consistently out of stock.

While their items are mostly made from leather, the company recently named out with the $180 cotton-canvas Camera Swagg, a synthetic version of their Money Maker design.

Think Tank Photo has announced four additions to three favored lines. With free shipping, the new Urban Access Sling 8, Urban Access Sling 10, Retrospective 4 V2.0 and Emergency Rain Cover in Large are all available through their online shop now.

The new Think Tank Photo Retrospective 4 V2.0 cotton canvas bag for DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

As the latest member to the Think Tank Retrospective family of shoulder bags, the $99 Retrospective 4 V2.0 is sized for rangefinder and mirrorless cameras and standard sized DSLRs. It’s a stylish solution with cotton canvas outer shell in either black or pinestone.

As the smallest bag in the Retrospective series, there are also five other sizes. The largest, the $199 Retrospective 30 V2.0, will hold up to two DSLRs with battery grips and a telephoto zoom attached.

The Think Tank Photo Retrospective 4 V2.0 camera bag is available in black or pinestone.

A new Urban Access Sling design joins two Urban Access backpacks as Think Tank’s latest models sized for a single DSLR with lens attached.

The easy access $99 Think Tank Urban Access Sling 8 and $109 Urban Access Sling 10 have Think Tank’s “’Slings Both Ways’ technology” for convertible carrying to the right or the left.

The Think Tank Photo Urban Sling 8 and Urban Sling 10 camera bags give quick access from either the left or the right.

Matching the previously available backpacks, the exterior is a discrete graphite fabric and holds a single camera with lenses.

Updating their Camera Rain Cover lines with a new $59 Emergency Rain Cover in Large option, super telephotos can now be protected from heavy downpours and even dust- or snowstorms.

A bigger option for super telephotos, the heavy duty Emergency Rain Cover in Large ($59) is the longest model available in Think Tank’s Camera Rain Covers.

This last March, the company’s Vision Shoulder Bag family was released in three sizes. The largest, the $140 Think Tank Vision 15, can house a camera body with 24–70mm lens attached plus up to four extra lenses with 15-inch laptop.

Tackle TSA Lines with Think Tank Photo’s New Rolling Bag https://rangefinderonline.com/gear/bags/take-on-tsa-lines-with-think-tank-photos-airport-advantage-plus/ Tue, 12 Dec 2017 14:55:36 +0000 https://rangefinderonl.wpengine.com/?p=52803

Need a gear bag that's carry-on friendly? Check this out.

The post Tackle TSA Lines with Think Tank Photo’s New Rolling Bag appeared first on Rangefinder.

]]>

Traveling photographers need all the help they can get, especially with more stringent TSA regulations rolling out at airports across the country that require putting electronics larger than a cell phone (including cameras) in a separate bin unless you have TSA Pre✓® (and have you seen those lines lately?). Just navigating airports with a full complement of gear is tough enough and that’s before you get to the crowded and chaotic security lanes.

While Think Tank Photo’s new Airport Advantage Plus won’t get you a pass on the new regulations, this rolling case keeps your gear neatly organized so you can move swiftly throughout the airport. And its 13.8 x 22 x 7.3 inch size is carry-on compliant for U.S. and International airlines. Of course, you need to check with each airline just to make sure.

The bag itself weighs only 6.9 pounds and has a spacious interior that will fit everything from one gripped and one standard-sized DSR with lens attached along with 5-8 additional lenses. Are both of your DSLRs gripped? You’ll still have room for both cameras and between 5-7 lenses (detached). If you  shoot with a mirrorless body, the bag can accommodate two cameras and probably more lenses than you even own.

Image courtesy of Think Tank Photo.

There’s also room for up to a 17-inch laptop and 10-inh tablet. Or an Eagle Creek Medium Clothing Folder (or you can just stash some of your clothes in empty spaces, which is what I generally do).
